| A series of bisphenol A epoxy resins were prepared using a newly synthesized diamine (MBTBA) and PDA as curing agents, the effect of MBTBA were investigated. Then epoxy/CNT composites. TPP retarded epoxy resins and TPP retarded epoxy/CNT composites were prepared, their mechanical properties, thermal properties and flame-retardant properties were investigated.Mechanical analysis showed that the tensile strength of samples was increased apparently with 5~10 mol%MBTBA, increasing by 10%-16% compare to neat epoxy. With the increasing of TPP. the bending strength and bending modulus of samples increased. After the addition of 0.5 wt% CNT, the impact strength of composites was increased by 53.81%.DMA tests showed that MBTBA has no effect on Tg of samples. Tg were increased by 6℃after adding 0.5 wt% CNT and increased by 4℃after adding 0.5 wt% CNT-COOH. TPP has negative effect on Tg.TG tests showed that CNT can inhibit decomposition of polymer. The addition of TPP can decrease the initial decomposition temperature as well as help the formation of char residue.CONE tests showed that CNT and TPP have proper flame retardant effects, the sample which contains both TPP and CNT has the best flame retardant effects, pkHRR was decreased by 29.46% compare to neat epoxy, THR was decreased by 21.68%.SEM tests showed that the dispersion of CNT-COOH is better than that of CNT. TPP can improve the dispersion of CNT in epoxy matrix. |
