Water widely exist in organic solvent, and hard to be removed. It is an important effect on the quality of the organic solvent. Therefore the trace moisture removal from the organic solvent is very important in organic solvents refining. This article referred to a lot of methods about removing trace water from organic solvents. Compared with the organic materials dehydration methods such as boiling distillation, extraction distillation, adsorption, membrane separation and desiccant adsorption. It is found that dehydration through adsorption method has obvious advantages.Molecular sieve adsorption dehydration is a highly efficient, energy saving, environmental protection separation method. In recent years, it is widely used in many fields. This paper introduces the principle and process flow of the molecular sieve adsorption dehydration. In this article, the adsorption method was chosen to remove trace water form methylal. According to the real demand by the factory, it will be fell down the water content in methylal. Through calculation and analysis,4A molecular sieve was chosen as adsorbent. Mass transfer were discussed in adsorption isotherm equation, membrane mass transfer mechanism and pore diffusion mechanism. On this basis, the adsorption model was set up and programs were made to calculate this model. Compiled the adsorption program by Fortran language. Simulation of the adsorption penetration curve, and the results are good coordinate with the experiment results. The program can be used in the real production and theoretical guidance. This paper also analyzes the influence of the adsorption process through changing some single factors such as the flow velocity, spherical particles diameter, diffusion coefficient and so on. Improve the flow rate, membrane mass transfer coefficient was increased, breakthrough curve ahead of time; Improve the diffusion coefficient, the diffusion speed was increased, breakthrough curve ahead of time; Improve grain diameter, apparent density was decreased, breakthrough curve ahead of time. And the concentration distribution of the adsorption process within the adsorption bed was studied, the results are good coordinate with the experiment results.
