The matrix resin for high frequency printed circuit board(PCB), which is mixture of epoxy resin and diphenyl ether modified cyanate resin respectively, is prepared in this paper.The purpose of this paper is to improve the water resistance property,dielectric property and mechanical property of the matrix resin.The curing kinetics, curing reaction mechanisms, thermal properties, water resistance property, dielectric properties and mechanical property of DMBPCN/EP and BADCy/DPEPh are studied by all sorts of analytical methods(DSC,FTIR,TGA,DMA etc.). The effect of the content of CE of DMBPCN/EP and BADCy/DPEPh on property is researched. The main important research results are as follows:1,The curing kinetic of DMBPCN/EP is studied by DSC,the curing activation energy of DMBPCN/EP is 102.43KJ/mol, and the reaction order is 0.98. The starting curing temperature; the curing temperature and the post treatment temperature of DMBPCN/EP are 157℃; 170℃and 183℃respectively.2,The properties of curing product of DMBPCN/EP are researched. Results show that when the mass fraction of EP in the matrix is 10%, The DMBPCN/EP system shows the best comprehensive performance.The mechanical property is improved largely(the flexural strength increase from 70.6MPa on pure cured DMBPCN to 108.6MPa) and the water absorption is lowest(only 0.68%) while lowering the losses of the dielectric property and thermal property to the minimum.3,The curing reaction mechanism of BADCy/DPEPh which is researched by infrared spectrum is as follows:(1),the imine-carbonic ester structure are prepared by the reaction of functional group of cyanate (-OCN) and phenol ichydroxyl of DPEPh.(2), the triazine ring structure are prepared by the reaction of the imine-carbonic ester structure and functional group of cyanate(-OCN). The triazine ring structure is the majority in BADCy/DPEPh system when add less DPEPh;while the Imine-carbonic ester structure is the majority when add more DPEPh. 4,The properties of curing product of BADCy/DPEPh are researched, results show that the water resistance property and dielectric properties of curing product decreased firstly, then increased with the iccrease of DPEPh. When the mass fraction of DPEPh in the matrix is 30%, The curing product of DMBPCN/EP system shows the best water resistance property and dielectric properties (the water absorption isl.15%; the dielectric coefficient and dielectric loss is 2.9 and 6.1x10-3).
