Flame-retardant products can reduce the occurrence of the fire accident from the source so as to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people. With the gradual establishment and improvement of fire regulations and standards for the flammability of textiles, there are more and more performance requirements for flame retardant textiles and the research and discussion of textiles'flame retardancy is particularly important. Mattress fabrics are widely used in our life as home textiles fabrics, so the research of its flame-retardant properties is more important.Nomex has excellent heat resistance, high strength, large elongation, good wear resistance and folding endurance, good moisture absorption, chemical resistance and good spinnability. It will not melt and be softened at high temperatures with only charring. It burns with low smoke density and heat. It has good durability under repeated washing and can maintain good flame retardancy after repeated washing. The textile has good dimensional stability and wearability. PSA is a high-performance synthetic fiber with special structure and excellent properties. Its heat resistance, thermal stability, high dimensional stability, flame resistance are better than Nomex. It also has good electric insulativity, dyeing property, radiation resistance and chemical stability. Lenzing Viscose FR has good hydroscopicity, permeability, dyeing property, Acid and alkali resistance. Compared with other fire-retardant fibers, Lenzing Viscose FR has the benefits of low-cost and non-pollution and can be processed into a variety of textiles.In this paper, Nomex, PSA and Lenzing Viscose FR blended yarn was used and the impact of raw materials, fabric texture, fabric density and other factors on the flame-retardant property was studied by designing fabric texture and changing fabric density. In order to make the research go on smoothly, the following technical route was developed: Study on properties of Nomex, PSA and Lenzing Viscose FR blended yarn→knitting→Fabric cleaning→Fabric thermosetting→Study on the fire resistance→Study on other practical properties of fabrics.Firstly, the performances of Nomex, PSA and Lenzing Viscose FR blended yarn were analyzed and the blended yarn's breaking strength, breaking elongation and hairiness index were determined. To ensure the successful weaving, the yarn can be waxed to reduce the friction coefficient.Secondly, considering the performances of the blended yarns and the equipments available at the same time, rib stitch, interlock stitch, cardigan, half cardigan and double-blister fabrics were produced on circular rib knitting machine, interlock machine, jacquard circular knitting machine and flat knitting machine.Thirdly, detergents and degreasers were added to high- temperature sample dyeing machine so as to clean the fabrics. Synthetic fibers and regenerated cellulose fibers contain few impurities, but some oil may get on the surface of the fiber and fabrics in fiber manufacturing process and fabric weaving process. Thus, in order to remove the oil, the fabrics still need to be cleaned to a certain extent. Then, to eliminate the existing creases on the fabric, improve the dimensional stability and make the creases not easy to generate, the fabrics were heat-set.Fourthly, the fire resistance of fabrics was tested and the factors that affected the fire resistance of fabrics were analyzed. Then, other practical performances of fabrics were tested and analyzed, including mechanical property, appearance retention and thermal-wet comfortableness.At last, fuzzy mathematics method were used to analyze the performances and make a comprehensive evaluation to the performances of seven fabrics, and the method to implement the fire resistance and other optimum performances of fabrics was given out.
