In modern industries, adhesive has a wide range of applications in various fields. A special adhesive is used to bond optical connector in electronic industry, the performance of product is closely related to adhesive coating and drying film-forming process. Therefore, study of polymer coating drying technology is important in industry use.In this thesis, acrylic adhesive is synthesized in the laboratory, butanone, butyl acetate, methyl methacrylate were selected as suitable solvents to lower the adhesive viscosity effectively and minimize air bubbles; by simulating the industrial hot air drying, drying condition influence on adhesive drying process is investigated; adhesive solvent composition was analyzed by GC-MS analysis, solvents/air mass transfer coefficients k is also tested by experiment. In order to design the drying system and control product quality, many researches focused on the thin-film coating transport phenomena in drying process. And many prediction model in different system were established. Based on Fick's mass transfer law, Vrentas - Duda free volume theory and Flory - Huggins polymer solution theory, an acrylic adhesive thin-layer drying mathematical model is established, and solved by MATLAB. The model is verified by experiment in the temperature range of 35 to 70℃with thin layer thickness of 3mm. Based on this model, solvent diffusion coefficient D, thin film coating solvent concentration distribution and adhesive thin layer drying curves in different condition is predicted.
