Acrylic acid distillation is important step in acrylic acid production. The optimization of acrylic acid distillation system for production equipment has been studied in this paper. It is important to the design and the operation of the production process.Firstly, using actual production data, the 3 models of acrylic acid distillation system tower were set up by applying PRO/II software. Secondly, simulation calculation was carried out with changing some parameters. The whole simulation process can well reflect the running of the equipment under normal conditions. We also made a lot of simulation by many kinds of operating conditions. The simulation results not only provide foundation for operators to analyze production process, but also provide technicians with valuable referential materials to improve design and operating conditions, to increase the process capacity and decrease the energy consumption. Finally, on the basis of simulation calculation results, compound azeotropic solvent was found through experiment.We tested it with industrial installation, compared experiment data with the data before using new technology. We approved that compound azeotropic solvent is effective for acrylic acid distillation, and acrylic acid distillation was optimized during production process.
