In comparison with irregular particles polyaniline fibershas a highspecific surface area and gap between fibers which can greatly improve theutilization of specific surface. It plays an important role in electrodematerial, electrochromic displays, electrochemical sensors as well asfunctional materials especially in electrical corrosion conductivity,dielectric composite material and so on. In order to obtain a higher specificsurface, two experimental programs are designed to prepare the surfacerough-fibrous polyaniline.Polyaniline/carbon black composites were synthesized by chemicaloxidation of in situ adsorption with ammonium persulfate(APS) as oxidant,aniline monomer, hydrochloric acid a dopant and carbon black as a hardtemplate in the reaction system. The influence of polymerization conditionson the morphology and structure of polyaniline were investigated by FTIR,SEM, TGA, cyclic voltammetry and four-probe electrical conductivitytester. The rough-fibrous polyaniline/carbon black compound weresynthesized with carbon black oxidation as a hard template when initiatorconcentration was0.36mol/L, reaction volume was40mL and the firstadding of monomer was70%. The diameter of polyaniline/carbon black isfrom200to500nm. SEM photos show amounts of secondary growth ofgranular were deposited on fiber surface. Polymerizantion mechanism isthat the particle size of carbon black becomes smaller and the surface areaincreases after being oxidized by nitric acid, which are benefit to theadsorption of aniline to form a fiber structure.PANI fibers were prepared by chemical oxidation with perchloric acid(HClO4)as a doping agent and ammonium persulfate (APS) as oxidant.The optimized reaction preparation condition of the surface roughpolyaniline fibers is that initiator concentration was3.31mol/L,concentration of aniline monomer was0.53mol/L, APS solution addingrate was5s/drop and the temperature was15℃; The secondary growthfibers can be seen on the surface of fibrous PANI. Length of polyaniline was about150nm and the diameter of the roots was50nm. The specificsurface area was36.7m~2/g.
