The synthesis method of Schiff ligands and their metal complexes is simple. They have important application in antibacterial, antitumor and other biological activity, and also in other fields such as catalysis, the analysis and electrochemistry and photochrom-ism field. The molecular structure of Schiff bases based on2-hydroxyl-1-naphthaldehyde contain both phenolic hydroxyl group and feature functional group of Schiff base. The hydrogen bonding interaction exist in the molecular structure lead to the structure transformation of enolate type and ketone type. The structure transformation explain photochromic phenomenon of Schiff ligands and their metal complexes. Research workers are interesting in carboxylic acid ligands because of its strong ability of coordination and diversity of coordination patterns. Schiff ligands and their metal complexes and carboxylic acid coordination polymers are both one of the frontier research in coordination chemistry. In this paper, we synthesize three schiff ligands. In summary, we synthesize three complexes and get their crystal, based on schiff ligand by2-hydroxyl-1-naphthaldehyde condensation of2-aminomethyl pyridine, including a dual-core complexes and two single-core of complexes. We also choose a carboxylic acid ligand,4-(1H-tetrazol-1-yl)-benzoic acid, which is a Tetrazole connecting with benzoic acid, obtain a zinc coordination polymer with a2D network structure. The coordination polymer through the hydrogen bonding interaction eventually form the3D supramolecular structure. In addition, we get two complexes without containing Schiff base in the synthesis process of Schiff base complexes.
