Camellia meiocarpa Hu is a is one of the important oil tree species in south China. In this study, population resources of Camellia meiocarpa Hu were systematically evaluated at fatty acid compositions and molecular marker. The main results are as following:1. The genetic diversity of Camellia meiocarpa Hu was analyzed by SRAP markers.9 primers selected from 87 candidates were applied to the amplification which produced 184 bands. Of them 184 bands (100%) were polymorphic. The average effective number of alleles. Nei's gene diversity and Shannon's information index were 1.7603, the genetic diversity of 180 Camellia meiocarpa Hu materials was high with Nei's gene diversity of 0.4279 and Shannon's information index of 0.6183,the mainly genetic variation of Camellia meiocarpa Hu existed in the populations.2. By Multi-comparison to the composition of tea oil-Fatty acid in Camellia meiocarpa Hu, the result that the variation of value of oilness was greater among tea oil while the variation of Fatty acid was limited was brought. The composition of fatty acid was not remarkable relevance with the Geographic and environmental Factors. The main impact factor was its Genetic Character.3. The result showed that the Groups clustering results of Camellia meiocarpa Hu were Inclined by means of MMs and analyzing the variation of Fatty acid. It showed that the Coupling of this two kinds of methods were better in evaluating the Genetic Diversity of Camellia meiocarpa Hu.Based on the genetic information available for the native Camellia meiocarpa Hu, some conservation strategies were proposed.
