The Effectiveness Of Different Methods With Topical Compression On Affected Areas To Relieve Chemotherapy Induced Phlebitis

Objectives:Clinical trials were conducted with 110 patients who were administered chemotherapy drug of vinorelbine consequently developed phlebitis. To observe the effects of different methods which relieve phlebitis through topical compression on affected areas, then find out the most effective methods for the phlebitis, reduce the healing time, relieve the pain of local area, improve the quality of life of the patients, and save time for the nursing staff.Methods:According to inclusion, exclusion criteria,110 patents with phlebitis which is caused by vinorelbine were selected in The Oncological Hospital of Hunan Province from June 2009 to April 2010. Patients were randomly divided into 3 groups, which under phlebitis treatment of Comfel ulcer paste, Reperil_gel and topical Heparin ointment respectively. Observation chart designed to collect data, which including categories of patients'general information, post chemotherapy nursing assessment, and effects of topical applying relieving phlebitis treatment. All data analyzed by statistical software Epidata3.0 and Spss13.0. Percentage, mean, standard deviation were used for descriptive analysis, while analysis of variance and x2 test were used for inferential analysis.Results:(1)Total effective rate of Comfel ulcer paste, Reperil_gel, and Heparin ointment treatment group are 97.43%,91.76%,65.71% respectively. The result of x2 test shows that there is significant difference among 3 groups for total effective rate (x2=13.440, P<0.05). Total effective rate of Comfel ulcer paste is higher than Heparin ointment'and there is statistically significant difference (x2=10.417, P<0.05); Total effective rate of Reperil_gel is higher than Heparin ointment'and there is statistically significant difference (x2=5.963,P<0.05); there is no significant difference between group Comfel ulcer paste and Reperil_gel group (x2=1.071, P>0.05)(2)The average healing time of Comfel ulcer paste, Reperil_gel, and Heparin ointment treatment group are 3.59±0.68d,5.06±0.52d,6.39±0.54d respectively. Tested by analysis of variance, there are significant differences among 3 groups for the average healing time (F=130.998, P=0.000). The average healing time of Comfel ulcer paste treatment group is the shortest, then Reperil_gel,and Heparin ointment the longest.(3)There are significant differences among 3 groups for 8 hours pain relief effective rate (x2=22.254, P=0.000). After tested by x2 test,8 hours pain relief effective rate of Comfel ulcer paste is higher than Heparin ointment'and there is statistically significant difference (x2=23.254, P<0.05); 8 hours pain relief effective rate of Reperil_gel is higher than Heparin ointment'and there is statistically significant difference (x2=9.372, P<0.05); 8 hours pain relief effective rate of Comfel ulcer paste is higher than Reperil_gel' and there is significant difference (x2=5.406,P<0.05).(4)There are significant differences among 3 groups for cure effect of blood vessel callosity and cirrhosis of linear (x2=4.379, P<0.05); cure effect of Comfel ulcer paste, Reperil_gel and Heparin ointment treatment group are 86.84%,66.67%,80.64% respectively.After tested byx2 test (x2=0.489, P>0.05), there is no significant difference between group Comfel ulcer paste and group Heparin ointment for cure effect of blood vessel callosity and cirrhosis of linear; there is no significant difference between group Reperil_gel and group Heparin ointment (x2=1.601, P>0.05); there is significant difference between group Comfel ulcer paste and Reperil_gel group (x2=4.118, P<0.05)Conclusions:(1)Comfel ulcer paste treatment has the highest effective rate, shortest average healing time, the best pain relief effect and cure effect of blood vessel callosity and cirrhosis of linear among three methods. It is a better option for treating phlebitis caused by vinorelbine. (2) The treatment effect of Reperil_gel is better than Heparin ointment treatment group.There is no difference between Reperil_gel and Comfel ulcer paste treatment group. Reperil_gel has the worst cure effect of blood vessel callosity and cirrhosis of linear.(3)The healing time and the pain relief time of phlebitis of three groups are different. First comes Comfel ulcer paste, then Reperil_gel, the last is Heparin ointment treatment group.(4)Cure effect of blood vessel callosity and cirrhosis of linear is no difference between Comfel ulcer paste and Heparin ointment.
