Objectives:To genotype Candida albicans isolated from patients with oral lichen planus by mutiplex PCR using internal transcribed spacer 1 and 2 regions and random amplified polymorphic DNA technique respectively, and explore the relationship between the genotype of Candida albicans and the pathogenesis of oral lichen planus. Methods:Both of RAPD and PCR ITS1-ITS2 were used to genotype 12 Candida albican species isolated from oral cavities of control group^ nonerosive group and erosive group.Results:(1) The positive rate of Candida albicans in OLP group is significantly higher than control group(P<0.05), especially in the non-erosive OLP group; (2) Both of PCR ITS1-ITS2 and RAPD analysis showed that 12 isolated Candida albicans species were divided into four genotypes with each in control group and erosive group, and two genotypes in non-erosive group. Meanwhile, in the PCR ITS1-ITS2 analysis, we named genotype of control group as typeâ… , erosive group as type II, and non-erosive group as typeâ…¢a and typeâ…¢b. Conclusion:Genotypeâ…¡,â…¢a andâ…¢b of Candida albicans are related to the representation of oral lichen planus.
