Purpose Compared with paclitaxel liposomes and traditional taxol used in weak, having multiple visceral dysfunction, elderly patients with breast cancer, there are differences in efficacy and adverse reactions by neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Methods Sixty patients(Ⅱa-Ⅲc breast cancer) were randomized into a test groups, which has 40 patients given paclitaxel liposomes, and a control group, which has 20 patients given traditional taxol.21-day is a cycle. Both groups accepted 3 or 4 cycles before evaluating efficacy. Results The overall response rates were 80% in test group and 75% in control group (P=1.000). Major adverse reactions are hematology toxicity and non-hematology toxicity. Parts of the adverse reactions in the two groups have significant differences. The control group has a higher incidence occurred in more than three degrees of granulocytopenia, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea compared with the test group (P<0.05),but all reactions are tolerated. Conclusion The two treatment regimens used in neoadjuvant chemotherapy are both effective for breast cancer, but the control group has a higher incidence of adverse reactions. So paclitaxel liposomes is more suitable for weak, having multiple visceral dysfunction, elderly patients to successfully complete neoadjuvant chemotherapy and accept surgery. |
