Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of foot acupoints massage with routine diabetic treatment in patients with grade 0 diabetic foot, by systematic and depth research in the theory and the clinical, to achieve the improvement of the symptoms and signs, improve peripheral neuropathy in patients with vascular disease and prevention of foot ulcers, thereby exploring secondary intervention of diabetic foot ulceration. Methods We randomly assigned 40 patients with grade 0 diabetic foot into one of two groups. Control group:20 patients received basic diabetic therapy (diet control, exercise, hypoglycemia/insulin and education). Experimental group:20 patients were treated by foot acupoints massage based on basic diabetic therapy. Outcomes were measured from neuropathic examination, foot paresthesia, neuroelectricity examination, and ankle-brachial index.ResultsPeripheral neuropathy①neuropathic examination:after intervention, there were significant differences between the two groups (p<0.01), both groups were significantly different(p< 0.05).Vibration sense:after intervention, there were significant differences between the two groups (p<0.05), both groups were significantly different(p<0.05).②foot paresthesia:after intervention, there were statistic significance between acroanesthesia group and pain group (p< 0.01). Numbness of the experimental group there were significant group differences(p<0.01). Pain in both groups were significantly different(p<0.01).③neuroelectricity examination:After the intervention, median sensory nerve conduction velocity, ulnar nerve, motor median nerve, peroneal nerve conduction velocity and amplitude between the two groups was significant difference (P<0.05). in experimental group, the sural nerve sensory amplitude, motor latency of median nerve, common peroneal nerve conduction velocity, there was a significant group difference (P<0.05).2. Peripheral angiopathy:Foot symptoms:Apathetic:after intervention, there were significant differences between the two groups (p<0.01), both groups were significantly different(p<0.01); Ankle brachial:After 3 months,6 months Intervention, there were no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05)After 3 months,6 months Intervention, both groups were significantly different(p<0.05);Conclusions Combined foot acupoints massage and basic diabetic treatment can effectively improve peripheral neuropathy and angiopathy of grade 0 diabetic foot. It can significantly reduce the patient's feet, numbness, pain, cold sensation; Significant improvement in median sensory nerve conduction velocity, ulnar nerve, sural nerve amplitude; significantly improve the movement of median nerve conduction velocity, latency, peroneal nerve conduction velocity, amplitude. These findings suggest that foot massage combined with health education on diabetes, diabetic foot level 0 to a certain extent the development of secondary prevention.
