Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the most serious arrhythmia symptoms. Sudden cardiac death means the end of life if defibrillation did not treat timely. Clinical research and experiments show that most cases of sudden cardiac death due to sustained ventricular fibrillation (VF) or ventricular tachycardia (VT) which caused by deterioration. It's significance in clinical medicine that distinguish normal sinus rhythm (NSR) signal, VT and VF signals quickly and accurately, which can achieve an effective and timely corrective measures to prevent or treat malignant arrhythmia effectively. VF and VT are different physiological processes, which their ECG should have a different dynamic complexity. Therefore, the results are not satisfied with a signal processing method. In this paper, we study normal ECG, tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation signal's characteristics of the multifractal with detrended fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA) method. After studied NOR, VT and VF signals's Hurst index, Renyi index and the width of multifractal spectrum range, we found it's easy to distinguish VT and VF signal with the width of multifractal spectrum. It provides diagnostic evidence for clinical treatment and brings some reference value. We also introduced another method of multifractal analysis - multifractal singular spectrum analysis (MF-SSA) in this paper, and researched the multifractal characteristic of congestive heart failure (CHF) and SCD signals. Experimental results show that the different time scale and the size of the range of q values have some difference impact. Using a time scale experiment provide that the width of the multifractal spectrum of SCD is wider than the width of the multifractal spectrum CHF. In other words, we can distinguish these signals with this method.
