As a familiar disease, Depression serious impact the quality of life of the patient. With the rhythm of life being more faster, the morbidity of the Depression are enhancing.So caring this disease become more and more important. But western medicine use Pharmacotherapy in Depress to control depressive mood and alleviate symptoms. But the side-effects of anti-depression medicine is numerous, for example insomnia nausea, mouth dry. These side-effects could aggravate the state of depression and affect curative effect. However the traditional Chinese medicine has its predominance in treatment of depression especially using acupuncture. This task offers a method in care Depression using electro-nape acupunctureObjective:To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of electro-nape acupuncture on depression.Methods:A random group trial was designed. Patients meeting the including criteria were randomly allocated to two groups. The treatment group was treated with electro-nape acupuncture once daily,6 weeks as a course and the control group, with Sertraline HCL Tablets,6weeks as a course. The HAMD and SRD Depression Scale were used to score before and after treatment for the evaluation of the therapeutic effects.Results:After one course of treatment, we find:(1)Two groups have more significant difference in reducing HAMD scores, before and after treatment(P<0.05)respectively; but comparison between the two groups showed insignificant difference (P>0.05). In efficiency, comparison between the two groups showed the treatment group better than the control group and nave significant difference (P<0.05).(2) The two groups before and after treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine symptoms scores and efficiency have more significant differences(P<0.05); comparison between the two groups showed that the treatment group better than the control group and have significant differences (P<0.05).(3) The two groups before and after treatment by SDS scores have more significant differences(P<0.05); comparison between the two groups showed that the treatment group better than the control group and have significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture has a satisfactory therapeutic effect on depression.
