Objective To explore the effects of bone marrow stem cell transplant treatment on the patients suffering from liver cirrhosis induced by hepatitis B and it's feasibility and security.Method 21 cases were selected from Zunyi Medical College Hospital and 200ml bone marrow was collected from each patient. Then the bone marrow stem cell, separated from bone marrow, were injected into liver inherent artery. Clinical manifestation, liver function, the hemoglutination function, AFP and the routine blood test were observed at the time point of 2,4,8,12wk respectively after operation. Results While the glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin (TBIL) decreased, albumlan (ALB), Pro-thrombin activity (PTA), cholin esterase (CHE) and Alpha Feto protein (AFP) increased after transplantation. Furthermore, the life quality of the patients were significantly improved such as decreased sscites, reduced lower limb edema and distension of the abdomen, improved appetite, the asthenia changes for the better in most of the patients after operation, without any several complications during or after operation. Besides. Conclusion It's suggested that bone marrow stem cell transplantation may be a safe, effective, and less side effect therapy for liver cirrhosis, because it's obvious effects on improving the liver function for the patients suffering from hepatitis B with liver cirrhosis, and worthy of application in hospital.
