Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the expression of NPRL2 and metastasis and prognosis in resected Non-small Cell Lung Cancer(NSCLC).Methods: The expression of NPRL2 was investigated in 60 cases of NSCLC and 13 cases of benign pulmonary lesion by immunohistochemical staining . The relationship between detected data and patients' clinical parameters was analyzed byχ2 tests. Multivariable COX model analysed the correlation between the expression of NPRL2 and patients' prognosis .Results: (1) The exprssion of NPRL2 in NSCLC tissues was significantly lower than in adjacent morphologically normal lung tissue . (P<0.01)(2) Compared to the cases without lymph node , the expression of NPRL2 was significantly lower in cases with lymph node . (P=0.001)(3) The expresssiong of NPRL2 in squmas cell carcinomas were lower than of that in adenocarcinoma . (P=0.016) (4) The results of multivariable COX model analysis show that the expression levels of NPRL2 , Lymphnodemet astasis and Grade were the important independent prognostic factor for survival(.5). The expresssiong of NPRL2 in squmas cell carcinomas with stageⅠorⅡ(18.5%) was lower than in normal tissue(89.5%).Conclusion: (1) NPRL2 may be a biomarker sets for early NSCLC diagnosis .(2)The low expression of NPRL2 was closely related to the progression and metastasis of NSCLC. (3) The expression of NPRL2 protein has prognostic significance for the survival of patients with NSCLC to a great extent.
