| Research facilities are the physical basis for the construction of laboratories and conduct of researches. Keeping these facilities in good condition for more efficient and longer use is not only the precondition for better researches, but one of the chief responsibilities of the plant for experimental instrument. Despite the large amount of data and information produced in the process of maintaining instrument, the Instrument Plant of AMMs has not computerized the management of information on maintenance. Consequently, data are scattered and the integration of information is inefficient, making it difficult to provide adequate decision-making support for executives. Given this situation, this paper, using object oriented analysis and design, is intended to set up a management information system (MIS) bases on B/S and C/S so that routine chores can be done by the computer rather than by hand. In this way, the statistical accuracy and validity of management data can be ensured, proper retrieval and analysis of valid information can be conducted and reliable data can be provided for decision-making. The application of network technology can lead to the pooling of data between laboratories and the maintenance. The thesis starts with an analysis of the development and status quo of management information system both at home and abroad by researching relevant literature. The development and application of management systems in some developed countries are divided into three stages. The first stage centered on the individual operational system that was intended to reduce repetitive work. The second stage was a gradual transformation to data processing and control systems while the in third stage MIS became sophisticated, characterized by the introduction of decision-making mechanisms, optimal processing via mathematical models and wide use of microprocessors. MIS started as late as the early 1970s in China and did not witness the development of subsystems until 1980. MIS has been widely used in manufacturing, fiance, telecommunications and logistics. As a branch of the application of MIS, MIS for research facilities is little reported, for institutions of higher learning and research institutes tend to develop their own management systems as required locally.Such information systems are highly specific and closely related to the work of the users, making impossible universal application and direct use.Secondly, the author conducted a survey on MIS for research facilities in this academy by visiting laboratories, consulting experts and communicating with users. It was found that research facilities management is still accomplished by hand, without real-time or any pool of information. To meet the requirement of our academy, the author of this thesis conducted an analysis of the MIS for instrument maintenance in terms of the operational process, system functions, the working setting, property indexes and data requirements. As a result, the nature of this system was identified and the goal for the first stage was set.Thirdly, the author analyzed the structure and mode of development of the two systems: B/S and C/S and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of each system. In line with the requirement of this system, the author suggested that this system should be developed using the mixture of B/S and C/S. To be more specific, B/S is to be responsible for requests for maintenance and the module of forums while C/S will take charge of basic equipment, maintenance data management, instrument data management, components information management, information retrieval and system support. Using prototype method + object-oriented compound method, using the Access database, using Visual Basic. NET2005 as client development tools, asp.net c # as the development tools, Web realized the prototype system, has initially a maintenance information management, inquiry, statistics, and other functions. The author combined advanced technology for management information systems with maintenance of research facilities and devised a management information system suited to our academy. This research can contribute to innovative modes of management, better efficiency of management and accelerated digitalization of management of research facilities. |
