| Patrinia scabiosaefolia Fisch. is a perennial herb indigenous to many frigid regions including north and south China. As a traditional Chinese medicine, it has been used in China for fever and inflammation along with detoxication, mobilization of blood circulation and treatment for stasis, etc. Modern pharmacology researches have shown it to have sedative, anti-bacterial, anti-virus, anti-tumor activities and protection efficacies of liver and gallbladder and so on. Some triterpenoid glycosides, coumarins, iridoids, sterols and other ingredients have been obtained from the root or rhizome of this plant previously. In this paper, we focus on isolation and identification of bioactive ingredients of this plant.From the MeOH extract of Patrinia scabiosaefolia, 35 compounds were obtained by using broad isolation techniques including silica gel column chromatography, LPLC, MPLC, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography, and Semi-pHPLC; 32 compounds were elucidated through spectroscopic analysis (NMR, MS and HR-ESI-MS) and chemical methods. Among them, P1~P7 were new compounds; P10, P12, P15, P16, P17, P18, P20, P21, P25, P26, P27 were obtained from this genus for the first time.In addition, the advances in the research of chemical constituents and their pharmacological activities of Patrinia genus were reviewed in this paper.This study has laid the foundation for further exploring of the potential active ingredients and quality control of Patrinia scabiosaefolia Fisch. |
