| Haruki Murakami is the most famous contemporary writer. His life background is complicated. Born in postwar Kansai, he grew up during the American military occupation, experienced student movement during his study and lived abroad after he became famous. Traveling between Japan and foreign countries, he has written a lot of works. His distinctive writing style is featured by the release and entanglement, disenchantment and integration of his novels.His literature researchers have always focused on the literary theme, narrative structure, postmodern context of features of his novels, but hardly on the wholeness of his literary creation. Starting from the wholeness of his literary creation, this thesis focused on the analysis of the changes of his novel view after exploring his multi-cultural identity.Introduction will briefly introduce his literary creations and the studies of his novels home and abroad. Chapter 1 will analyze his creation out of his imagination under the multi-cultural context. It is composed of two sections, the first on his inheritance and development of traditional Japanese literature, the second on the American culture in his novels. Chapter 2 will focus on the transformation of his literary creation, that is from the early detachment of nihilism to the commitment of shouldering the literature responsibility. It is divided into 3 sections, namely the the story of detachment , the commitment of violence and the virtues and vices during commitment. In the conclusion part, the author will summarize the above analysis and praise the writer's sense of responsibility for the literature redemption by his literature creation transformation. |
