The Study Of Temporal Self-Worth Among The Senior Student In Primary School

Self-worth has a very deep affects on cognition, emotion, behavior and motivation of young students. So this study will be base on the previous studies, use the senior student in primary school as the research subjects, from temporal perspective to explore theirs self-worth. Analysis and comparison with the results of previous studies, longitudinal observe the development of self-worth in one's lifetime. The pursers of this study are to explore that under the same culture background, individuals of different age trends, how the self-worth is to development, progressive or roundabout.This study will use a certain scale,which is prepare for adolescents compiled by Professor Xiting Huang, and directed to partly senior students who come from Affiliated Primary School of Southwest University, Chao Yang primary school, Mei Huashan primary school and Cheng Jiang primary school, totally recovered 734 questionaires. This study is to explore the characteristics of past, present and future self-worth under the different time cue phrases; to explore the relationship between the satisfaction of the past examination and perceived temporal distance; and to explore the influences of the certainty, arising from the goal and ideal to the future on self-worth of past, present and future.The conclusions of this study:(1) in the senior stage of primary school, self-worth of present is higher than the past and future, at the same time, self-worth of past is higher than the future.(2) no matter the past, present or future, the score of the common self-worth of the girls is higher than boys.(3) under the "present" and "future" cue phrases, the types of school have effect on social orientation and personal orientation of common self-worth, especially in ordinary primary school.(4) age is an important factor which can not be ignored, it has a positively correlate with the self-worth promotion.(5) the satisfaction of past examination isn't correlate with the perceived temporal distance.(6) the certainty, arising from the goal and ideal to the future have a very important effect to the self-worth of past, present and future.
