Backward Design is a new method in Curriculum Design. It appeared in 1990s in the the curriculum reforms of United States. It focus on deepening students' understanding of core contents and core concepts of subjects and improve the students' understanding ability through curriculum designing.The method is rather influential in the education circles by present. And it has been be applied to many universities, elementary and secondary school in United States.and also been spreaded to some schools of Canada, Europe and Australia.This paper trys to apply Backward Design's method and procedure to TCSL. And according to the new situation of Chinese international promotion, designed a Chinese course for oversea students in primary and high schools.This article is divided to five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of the research, The main content of this paper, Defines the major terms used in the paper.The second chapter summarizes the historical origins and the development current of backward design, and the research results done at home and abroad.The third chapter discusses the feasibility and the necessity to applying backward design into TCSL, This chapter includes three parts:1.summarizes the similarity of task-based language teaching and the backward design.2. summarizes the current status of the classroom teaching and its design method in TCSL. 3. points out the problems and The developing directions of it.According to the backward design's operation procedures, The fourth chapter Designs a course which can meet the demands of 5C Instructional Objectives in Standard for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century of The United States., Combined with TCSL's discipline characteristic and the trend of Chinese international promotion.The fifth chapter summarizes the main research results of main disadvantages and the future research direction...
