Research On Imagery Modeling Of Meticulous Figure Paintings From Creative Perspective

The conception of "images" is the aesthetic foundation of Chinese ancient painting and was first influenced by ancient Chinese philosophy. The theory got improved gradually from the Northern and Southern Dynasties and became a thought presentation and dominant ideology for Chinese Art, influencing its modeling conception and its presentation styles, creating an unique "imagery modeling", and even guiding the development of traditional Chinese meticulous painting.With the development of art, modern meticulous painting, influenced by western factors, shows a diversity of modeling such as realism, imagery and abstractionism, of which "image modeling" becomes one of the unique methods in modern meticulous painting through continuing development and innovation. This paper aims mainly at researching, from the perspective of actual painting, the artistic forms of imagery modeling, its specific presentation forms, and the ways of training this ability, of which the later two are the focus. In this paper, I take several famous artists'works as examples to explore how different artists apply different methods to portray specific parts of a character and analyses the following six aspects:dynamic figures, facial expressions, hands, hairstyles, drapery, and relationship between figures and backgrounds. By analysis of those famous works I have realized the following about how to conduct imagery modeling creation:1. the consciousness decides the images; 2. to change percentage; 3. to enhance geometry; 4, to simplify the structure; 5. to pursuit a complete image; 6. heterogeneous intervention. This paper also does a specific research on the cultivation of imagery modeling abilities, including the diversity of imagery modeling capabilities, aesthetic vision and personal qualities, expecting it will do some help with the actual painting practice.
