Abstract Analysis On Morandi's Paintings

The understanding to abstract painting in our country is far not enough. There has been figurative style painting and abstract style painting in the teaching of painting for a long time, so people like to oppose one to anther, thus seldom consider the connection between them. But actually many abstract factors exist in figurative factors.This thesis mainly analyze Morandi's paintings in all different periods to see how he seeked out the abstract factors from figurative factors and thus develop a image without specific space meaning.So it is very important to analyze that abstract factors are also important in figurative paintings.Chapter one is mainly about Morandi's understanding to article structure. He destructs and scatters articles and then re-construct them according to the pictures. He uses a simplified way to summarize some abstract factors in his paintings.Chapter two mainly analyze the relationship between shadow and positive&negative space in Morandi's paintings to explore how he used some abstract factors to form pictures.Chapter three is about the abstract factors that Morandi reflected when he used lines and color lump to shape two-dimensional space.In the conclusion part, we found that the use of abstract factors are very important in Morandi's paintings after the analyze of his works. We got enlightenment from the conclusion and it is useful for us to break the original view method in drawing, thus provide new manifestation mode, which have realistic instructive meaning in how to grasp our drawing manifestation mode.
