The rapid interactivity of cybermedia provides people with the largest virtual space for distant transmission and communication and forms a new communicaton environment different from daily language communication. The topic, the objective of speech communication, the communicator and the background of communication also changes accordingly, which mainly embodies in internet language including inner and external changes changes such as pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and linguistic performance. Internet language is a significant studying field in linguistic circle and frutiful achievements have been made already while the study majorly concentrate on lexicology, semeiology and sociolin-gustics, however, there is still a large study space in internet word formation and pragmatics which is the theme of this paper.The first chapter introduction summerizes the current research on internet vocabulary, clarifies the nature of internet vocabulary, defines the connotation of internet vocabulary and explains the origin of lin-gustic data. Chapter two illustrates the two copositions of internet vocabulary:native language and foreign words, paticularly introduces loan words,letter words and the involving fields of internet vocabulary. Chapter three is the most important part of the thesis which consists of the concrete analysis of 1554 words and fixed phrases,356 items of alphabetic words with the methods of comparision, induction, explainnation and exaplification. In addition, this part also systematically invest-tigates different sorts of word formation such as onomatopoeia word formation, illustration word formation, grammatical word formation rhetoric word formation and abbreviation word formation. Chapter four explains and proves the practical value of study on pragmatics of internet word formation and its influence of internet context. The conclusion summarizes the outcome of the thesis and points out insufficience and the direction of further sudy of the thesis.
