Patriarchy, to the men, is humanized system that they can suppress women and maintain their reign. While to women, it is demonic system that was filled with blood and tears and limited to the loss of their personal freedom. From comparing the two female characters Fan Yi and Piao Yulian, combined with Cao Yu's drama Thunderstorm and Han Moosuk's novel History flows and information about feminism, this paper discusses under the patriarchy how women struggled for survival, how women searched for their ideal and aim, and why they faced to different the end of life, and also explains how the men and women writers of the gender perspective effected the construction of the fate of characters.Chapter One is introduction. This chapter mainly discusses the research status and the feasibility, purpose, significance and research methods of this topic.Chapter Two is "Different images of women in traditional ethics". This chapter first introduced two different women in the traditional ethics called Fan Yi and Piao Yulian, then summarized the characters and their struggle for living in patriarchal society.Chapter Three is "Objective factors of different outcome of life". This chapter is divided into three parts. The first part discusses the shackles and chains that is given to women by patriarchy and the role that women should play under the perspective of patriarchy. The second section is about two alienation women characters who lived under the patriarchal society. Fan Yi who was described by Cao Yu lived as a vixen with fighting with men, yet Piao Yulian that was created by Han Moosuk lived as a new type of woman who was out of woods. So both of them became heterogeneous images in patriarchal society. The third section conforms to the contents of section two to analyses the different methods of protest and the different outcome of life that Fan Yi and Piao Yulian faced. Fan Yi went to the end of crazy in ways of struggling and extremely exploding, while Piao Yulian went to success from struggling and escaping from the living environment.Chapter Four is "The heroine of their own factors of different outcomes in life". The main content of this part is to discover how the heroine's characters and self-awareness changed and effected the final outcome of life. As the women living under the press of patriarchy, Fan Yi and Piao Yulian had totally different characters and awareness, which led to their different the end of life. Fan Yi's weak character and self-awareness which needs to be improved makes her go to the destruction of life; while Piao Yulian's strong character and self-awareness that has been promoted makes her go toward to rebirth.Chapter Five is "Writers' gender perspective and the fate of female characters of different construction". The point of this chapter is how the different gender perspective and gender awareness effected the fate of female characters. Male writers will describe the female characters as the tragic image under the influence of their implicit gender awareness; on the contrary, female writers will create female characters as he happy ending image under the influence of their dominant gender awareness.Cao Yu's drama Thunderstorm and Han Moosuk's novel History flows have been chosen for the analysis of this paper. This thesis will be from a feminist perspective, on the one hand analyses the women images of works to read out the pressure of women who were in patriarchal ideology, on the other hand analyses the text of men and women writers, to find the difference of writing style between men and women and the affect of significance of literature which was given by gender perspective. Through the analytic comparison between the images of the two alienation women characters who lived under the press of patriarchy, this paper will support more reference material to this kind of study.
