In order to study the learning adaptability difference between unofficial rural labor settler's children and urban settler's children,"Learning adaptability Scale" was applied to survey 230 pupils from Changzhou,Jiangsu province.By methods of Chi-square Test,Univariate, simple effect Test,the study draws following results:(1) Unofficial rural labor settlers'children's scores were significantly lower than urban settlers'children's in learning adaptability rank.(2) In all the dimensions of learning adaptability, there was no significant discrepancy between unofficial rural labor settlers'children and urban settlers'children in grade 1-2.But, in the dimensions of independence and persistence,the scores of the only child in grade 1-2 were significantly lower than the non-only child in grade 1-2.(3)In all the dimensions of learning adaptability, there was no significant discrepancy between unofficial rural labor settlers'children and urban settlers'children in grade 3-4. In learning adaptability total scale and the dimension of observation method, the scores of the only child in grade 3-4 were significantly higher than the non-only child in grade 3-4.Among urban settler children in grade 3-4, the scores of the only child on observation method were significantly higher than the non-only child.(4)In all the dimensions of learning adaptability, there was no significant discrepancy between unofficial rural labor settlers' children and urban settlers'children in grade 5-6. In learning adaptability total scale and the dimensions of learning attitude,learning enthusiasm,observation method,the scores of girls in grade 5-6 were significantly higher than the boys in grade 5-6.In learning adaptability total scale and the dimensions of learning technology,learning environment,physical and mental health,learning plan,school environment,independence and persistence,the interaction between sex and student origin is significantly.Among boys in grade 5-6, there was no significant discrepancy between unofficial rural labor settlers' children and urban settlers'children,however, among girls in grade 5-6, the scores of unofficial rural labor settlers'children were significantly lower than urban settlers'children.Conclusions:(1) The level of Unofficial rural labor settlers'children in learning adaptability was lower than urban settlers' children's.(2)Among low grade's pupils, there was no significant discrepancy between unofficial rural labor settlers' children and urban settlers' children on learning adaptability,but as the grade increased,the discrepancy rose gradually.(3)There were structured discrepancies on learning adaptability among different grade's pupils,in other word,there were discrepancies of developmental level between unofficial rural labor settlers' children and urban settlers"children on some sub- scales.(4)There exits sexual difference,the only child or the non-only child difference on learning adaptability of pupils.
