Research, Xu Ling Poetry

Xuling, who lived between Liang and Chen Dynasty is one of important writers and politicians in that time. The thesis mainly researches Xuling including his family, his lifetime, his poetry, articles and the scholar's comments about his poetry and articles. This paper emphasizes particularly on the text analyzing, history analyzing and literature analyzing.This paper is mainly divided into four parts. The first part explores the condition of Xuling's clan when they removed from north to south, and author discusses the role of literature and political which his clan played in the southern Dynasties by listing some successful members. Meanwhile, it also expounds something about his family and the people of his family in his articles. When discussing the lifetime of Xuling, we refer to the historical figures and the size of his first official position, and the relationship between the official and his farther Xuchi.The second part relates to the content and artistic features about Xuling's poetry: we analyze the content by classifying the poetry into four portions and the artistic features from the words, rhythmic, antithesis and so on.The third part involves the content and the artistic features about the articles of Xuling:we analyze the content by classifying the articles into the documents and the epistles while the epistles also contain ghostwriting ones and personal ones; we analyze the artistic features from two potions, one is the combining between the lyric and the principle in his articles, the other is about the beauty of the articles'form.The last part author analyzes some scholars' comments about Xuling, this part contains two portions, the evaluations from the people who lived in the same time with Xuling, and the evaluations from the people who lived after Xuling. Meanwhile, we discuss the comments in Chenshu, including the three new changes in the southern Dynasties, the old form, and the range and implication of Xuling' new changes.
