Rural teleplay is a type of TV plays which aims at showing the reality of rural life. The creation of peasantry TV plays has a long history and good creation condition in China. Since the new century, rural life has gained more and more attention from all quarters of society under the influence of Chinese new rural economic development policy. There was a blast of "rural drama boom" after broadcasting of the "Fence, Woman and Dog" series in the1980s. The emergence of rural teleplays in the northeast China has gained greater attention. After the reform and opening up, the creations of rural teleplays have had greater changes in China. The works are no longer confined to the theme of building their fortunes, and the culture values are gradually tend to the mass. The mode of narrative comedy has become the trend. What is worth of consideration is that the humorous and dramatic rural television works of northeast China are widely welcomed and accepted by the audiences. At the same time, its essayistic narrative styles also make the northeast culture enjoy popular support. This success is inextricably linked to the sincere cooperation of couple dance opera comedians and scriptwriters of comic sketch such as Zhao Benshan, Fan Wei, Gao Xiumin and He Qingqui etc. In addition, as a microcosm of the western rural life, Shanxi rural teleplays show the culture and landscape of northwest China. By using narrative method of Shanxi opera, Shanxi rural teleplays described the deep and abundant rural life of Shanxi. They have made a profound humanistic examination of peasants living in the Loess Plateau and reproduced the original country life of Shanxi. Though there are few rural teleplays based on the theme of Shanxi, they have had a profound impact in China such as the excellent teleplays "Ordinary World" and "Guo Xiuming". In contrast, there are little teleplays which show the reality of rural situation of the south. Therefore, it is essential to put great efforts on making a balance between the creation of rural teleplays in North and South and step out of the dilemmas of southern rural teleplays creation.By concluding the successful experiences and exploring the drawbacks of rural teleplay works based on the rural teleplays which have distinctive regional characteristics of northeast China, Shanxi and south China such as"Liu Laogen", "Country Love", "The Story of XiGengTian", "Headed by a Woman", "Chun Nuan Nanyue" etc, this paper attempts to provide a theoretical reference for the innovation of Chinese rural teleplays in the future.
