The Cultural Research On The Design Of Xinjiang Uyghur Carpet

Carpet, which takes nature as its main manifestation, is a historical cultural phenomenon. In its 2000 years of development process, carpet made great progress on details, pattern, color, productive technology, scale and quality. These abundant contents become important culture spreading and communication medium between states, regions and nations. The carpet history and culture inherited by Uyghur is a typical representative.Carpet is a material culture heritage, but its productive technology is intangible cultural heritage, so it has multiple values. It's the special value and significance becomes the source of its vigorous vitality, and consistently making progress in new period of innovation and development. Xinjiang carpet culture takes Uyghur traditional culture as its core and absorbs many kinds of element which from abroad, by historical accumulation and development, it gradually form a carpet culture system, its value reflects on many aspects: carpet is civilized material evidence created by Uyghur in each different historical stages, it's also the product of history changes in economy, culture, nationality and religion. Carpet gets social value by bringing lovely life environment, developing national culture and creating economic value, it reflects Uyghur's life habits and aesthetic habit as well as national character. At the same time, carpet plays culture inheritance function and makes carpet culture last long until nowadays.In this thesis the author tries to open up the origin of the Uighur Carpet combining the field investigation method with historical documentsand principles of historical materialism and dialectical materialism at themeeting point of several different sciences.
