| Objective: To explore the behavior health status in junior middle school students in Wuhan and related family and psychological factors, and to study the feasibility and implementation modalities of the family intervention on improving the psychological and behavioral health among this population, so as to formulate a scientific basis for effective intervention measures.Methods:â‘ General scale, Mental Health Test (MHT), Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist (parents only) were applied to investigate 859 students who were selected by cluster sampling in two middle schools in Wuhan in order to understand the status of behavior, and related family and psychological factors among junior middle school students in Wuhan.â‘¡Considering CBCL scale diagnosis and personal willingness, 53 grade one students in one of the schools(26 boys, 27 girls) was selected as the intervention targets, and 53 students were selected as the control according to gender, age, parental education level, classes and results. self-designed family intervention program was applied to conduct the intervention of parent-child relationship, and using general scale, Mental Health Test (MHT), Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist (parents only) in both intervention group and control group after 3-month to evaluate the intervention effect of family intervention on adolescent behavior problem.Results:1. The description about behavioral health status of junior middle school students The common behavior problems of junior middle school boys are immature, obsessive and hostile; but about junior middle school girls are schizoid, immature and offensive. According to the statistics analysis, the number of junior middle school boys who had abnormal score on any behavior health factor was 92,that is to say ,the relevance ratio of the behavior problem of the investigated boys was 22.77%. the number of junior middle school girls who had abnormal score on any behavior health factor was 90, that is to say ,the relevance ratio of the behavior problem of the investigated girls was 22.96%. the overall relevance ratio of the behavior problem of the investigated junior middle school students was 22.86%.2. The factors that influence behavioral health of junior middle school students.â‘ Single-variable analysis The Junior middle school students with different home environment and family relation have different scores in the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), the difference have statistic significance (p<0.05).â‘¡Correlation analysis Compare with each factor scores in the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) and the 8 factors in MHT, they all have positive correlation and most of the correlations have statistic significance(p<0.05).â‘¢Multivariate analysis On the 0.05standard, the variables that enter the Multiple Linear Regression Model of the total score of male behavior diagnosis are father's literacy, the family economic status and the total score of MHT; On the 0.05standard, the variables that enter the Multiple Linear Regression Model of the total score of female behavior diagnosis are the location of the parents work, the degree of satisfaction about the relationship between parents, how often communicate with parents and the total score of MHT.3. Evaluation of intervention The scores on the factors of schizoid, hostile and aggressive of boys in the intervention group decreased significantly after the intervention(p<0.05). While the scores on the factors of Anxiety, compulsion, schizoid, depression withdrawal, immaturity and discipline of girls in the intervention group decreased significantly after the intervention(p<0.05). In both boys and girls, the score differences in matched group before and after the intervention don't have statistic significance. The parent-child communication and parent-child relation of junior middle school students in intervention group have improved, and the mental fitness are better than before. But the members in matched group have not any improvement.Conclusion:1. The behavioral healthy condition of junior middle school students can not be ignored, and girls'behavioral healthy condition is not different with the boys', the main factor that influence the behavioral healthy condition of junior middle school students are home environment ,family members'relationship, mental health and so on.2. The family intervention is an effective way to improve the behavioral healthy condition of junior middle school students, and it can improve junior middle school students'parenthood, parent-child communication and parent-child relation. |
