Transcultural adaptation is the key point of transcultural communication. It characterized by the comprehensive adaptation status and process of an individual or group adapting to strange cultural environment. In second language education, the study and analysis on transcultural adaptation of foreign students may help them overcome the difficulties in right time, continuously improve their transcultural communication skills and guide the second language education.Research content of the paper: the nature, character and rules of transcultural adaptation for learning needs of foreign students in Xinjiang in primary Chinese study courses.The research is based on questionnaire, in-depth interview and classroom observation.To conduct questionnaire survey first. As adopting the retest reliability and Cronbach'sαcoefficient, The designed questionnaire in the paper is with favorable reliability. Its validity is proved being in line with the investigation target in validity and accuracy through structural validity and content validity method.In the next place, design the interview outline for adaptation indicated by statistical data by the way of random sampling in whole group to select 13 students for interview.In Third place, leading out the discussion about the nature, characters and rules of in transcultural adaptation for learning needs according to the foreign students'performance in Chinese courses.The investigation statistical data, in-depth interview and classroom observation indicate that the transcultural adaptation of foreign students in Xinjiang, in the process of learning Chinese, experience Chinese culture and talent and skills, shows an overall status of small at both ends and big in the middle. The major causes resulted which are: 1. The nationality, ages and gender have an internal dependence with the foreign students on transcultural adaptation on Chinese culture. 2. The purpose for study abroad, learning needs, transcultural preference, and efforts have effect on the individual transcultural adaptation. 3. The difference among foreign students'performance on transcultural adaptation on Chinese culture is the primary factor of for the overall status of transcultural adaptation. Based on the comparison with transcultural adaptation for living needs of immigration groups and other groups, the paper comes to the conclusion that the transcultural adaptation for learning needs is an repeated circulating mental adaptation process in which the foreign students learning the second language and experience an process from cultural shock to cultural adaptation, and repeat it all over again. The purpose of this kind of adaptation is to establish a new language communication system beyond mother language communication system so as to acquire communication abilities in second language communication system.
