Intervention Research Upon Group Counseling For New Prison Felons Into The Negative Emotion

The research aimed to study the effect of Group Counseling on Negative Affect of the Major Criminal Offenders Who have been in prison recently.By doing a questionnaire survey and interview on a prison of Fujian Province to screening 24 subjects of this study.24 Major Criminal Offenders were ivided into two groups.twelve of them were made up of a Control Group,and others were in the Experimental Group. They were intervened for 8 sessions and were assessed with The Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS),Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS),Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) before and after they were intervened.The result shows that after intervention the scores of Anxiety,Depression,and Negative Affect were significant decreased;the scores of Positive Affect have no significant change.The conclusion of this study shows that Group Counseling is an effective method on Negative Affect of the Major Criminal Offenders Who have been in prison recently.
