| Tseng kuo-fan, who is the minister of Qing, and also is a famous politicians, thinkers and educaters in Chinese end feudal society. As the effort of the West Learning and the fission of traditional Thought and Policial Education, Tseng kuo-fan advocated people to pay more attention on moral education through studying Classics. Because of that he was opposed to just studying philosophy and not doing more practice, so Tseng's view on education was mixing the theory of philosophy and the practice of daily life. On one hand, Tseng kuo-fan was the first person who sent students to study abroad, and also he had encouraged the scientists to develop the domestic industry by using westen technology. On the other hand, Tseng kuo-fan had strongly proposed to give a more specific and deep explanation on the content of the traditional moral education. There was great effort on the moral education thoughts of tseng kuo-fan by his life experience. But as well, his moral education thoughts had changed the whole life. His explanation on "Benevolence, righteousness, propriety, faith, diligence, frugality, loyalty, honest" was the best point through Confucianism, which gave an important inspirations on personal moral education and moral civilization of the age.This article has been divided into five parts. They are introduction, the development of Tseng's moral education thoughts, the contents and the specific method of the moral education, and the inspiration. First of all, there was an overview of the factors and the development process of moral education. From the research of Confucianism to find out the reason why Tseng could have a high ethics and well mixed it into the normal life. Second, the main part of the paper was finishing on the content and method of Tseng's moral education by studing his letters, diaries and the books that had been left until now. The porpose was finding out what kind of special characters could make Tseng became a minister with huge power, the education to his families, and the principles to be an honest men. At last, there would be some enlightment on the development of moral civilization, which was the conclusion from conparision with Tseng's moral education. |
