Objectives. The primary aim of this research was to revise the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form and make it more suitable for cross-cultural study. Meanwhile, to study the statistical effects of the relationship between early maladaptive schemas (EMS),school adaptability (SA) and depression (SD)Design. Using item analysis and factor analysis to revise the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form, according to the correlation analysis and regression analysis researching the relationship between EMS,SA and SDMethods. By random sampling,1100 undergraduate students were recruited and divided three groups to take the questionnaire. Participants completed the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form, the Psychological Mindedness Scale and the self-assessment depression scale and the university student adaptability scale.Results.(1) To be revised, the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form had good reliability and validity of the cross-cultural study in China and can be used in the specific research.(2) Based on demographic variable analysis, college students in China had their own characteristics in EMS,SA and SD.(3) Undergraduate students' EMS, SA and SD had extremely significant relationship, and each factor also had extremely significant relationship. EMS and SA had negative correlation. EMS and SD had positive correlation. SA and SD had negative correlation.(4) Regression analysis showed that EMS had significant negative effect of SA. To introduce EMS's 15 factors as independent variable and the SA as dependent variable. The multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that there are six factors entering regression equation and the six factors had significant positive prediction effect on SD.
