The Critique Of Philosophy For The Social-Spatial Dialectics Of Edward.W.Soja

The contemporary mode of production of Capitalism is different in four aspects:the Capitalism global spatial system,the new spatial knowledge and technology,the new forms of capital as well as the spatialized consumer society.When in face of the newly Space-issue-rised period, the traditional Marxist Theory has its limitations for the period since it was created. Those limitations express in two aspects: on the one hand there is a misunderstanding about the concept of"Space";on the other hand when it concerned to the issues of social development, there is a trend of Historicism.Owing to the distinguishing features of the age and the limitations of traditional Marxist Theory, Edward.W.Soja created the theroy of Social-Spatial Dialectics,on the basis of Henry Lefebvre's Spatial Production Theroy, David Harway's Marxist Geography as well as the essence of Marxism. It is composed of Space-Time-Society Ontology and the dialectical relationship among Space and Time\Space and Society.The theroy of The Social-Spatial Dialectics makes a progress towards Marxist Historical Materialism in three aspects.The new theroy wisely turned into Empirical Research instead of staying at the field of purly logical critique,Which provides a profound meaning towards the academic construction of China.However,the theroy has its limitations in the premise \the content and the faction.
