Chinese style songs are becoming an integral part of Chinese cultural life. The innovation of its tunes and lyrics has attracted scholars attention extensively. A great deal of research has been carried out in terms of musicology, sociology and culture, etc. With the development of the study, some scholars have dealt with the Chinese style song lyrics from a linguistic aspect. But there is a lack of analysis of the process of its meaning-construction process of the Chinese style song lyrics. As a new theory in the field of western cognitive linguistics, Conceptual Integration Theory provides an effective approach to the investigation of this process.The present study intends to analyze the meaning construction of Chinese style songs'lyrics from the perspective of Conceptual Integration Theory by Gill Fauconnier and Mark Turner, and to explore pieces of lyrics using four Conceptual Integration Networks in Conceptual Integration Theory, to reveal the dynamic cognitive process of Chinese style song lyrics. By discussing the process of the meaning-construction process in Chinese style song lyrics, this paper demonstrates that conceptual integration is a universal cognitive mechanism and has a great explanatory power.
