From Literature To Revolution-Ding Ling's Mentality Research During The Period Of Bei Dou Journal And Liberation Daily Literature Supplement

As an important author, who is full of strong self-awareness, Ding Ling's literature movement comprises not only literary-inditing but also edit action which had run through her whole life. The dissertation has analyzed two typical newspaper supplements and journals one by one which edited in chief by Ding Ling during the turn of her life and art-creation: the Plough(Beidou) magazine, Liberation(Jiefang) Daily literature supplement, and emphasized journal and the complex intercourse forms between Ding Ling, who possessed multiple identities, and party ideological system. In the course of modern literature production, Editor Ding Ling had been acted as an organizer among editor author reader and ideological official. In my opinion, the complicacy of Ding Ling's literature editing movement exists in the complicacy of social revolutionary in China, and Ding Ling's inherent personality inherited from and rooted in"May Fourth"spirit, therefore there had existed an obliquitous state of not only conflict but also ingratiation between Ding Ling and party literature ideology. For this reason, apart from introduction and conclusion, this dissertation is composed of five corresponding chapters concerning the issues mentioned above.The first chapter mainly explores Ding Ling's literature editing movement in 30's, which she edited the Plough journal for"left-wing"author alliance. It points out that the Plough journal inherited and preceded the former Left-wing's magazine tradition. It contained different opinions and accept free argument, but also played an oriented role in combating the enemies; It not only received the famous authors from different political stand point, but also paid attention to breeding the new author. Although"Left-turn"was the inner requirement of Ding Ling, she had been figured by the culture atmosphere of the Plough magazine.The second chapter mainly discusses Ding Ling's literature editing movement in 1940's, which took place in Yan'an. Before the Rectification Movement in Yan'an, because the party's literature policy was relatively loose, Ding Ling's editing movement rooted from"May Fourth"spirit tradition was full of strong criticized-awareness of modern intellectual. She initiated a tide of writing"Lu Xun tradition"scribble. After the Rectification Movement in Yan'an, Ding Ling devoutly accept the criterion of Mao thought. The conflict between Liberation Daily literature supplement and Yan'an official discourse had greet influence on Ding Ling.From above, Ding Ling's cultural editing movement demonstrates that: between she and political ideology, the latter has finished the course of utilizing, educating, publishing and recycling Ding Ling by means of endowing her with editor of organ journals. However, Ding Ling was never a passive author. As a up-and-coming intellectual, Editor Ding Ling never gave up her efforts to speak in public and freely in condition of validity.
