Investigation On The Spread And Change Of Chinese Yayue In Korean Peninsula

Chinese Yayue, which was originated from ritual music system of the Western Zhou Dynasty, had a wide impact on korean peninsula during the thousands of years of history. In the early 12th century, Dasheng Yayue of the Song Dynasty was spread to Koryo and became a necessary part of Korean music, which is still played in the Confucian temple of Seoul nowaday. However, Yayue culture for thousands of years has gone after the fall of the Qing Dynasty. But how did Chinese Yayue develop in Korean peninsula after it had been ingrated with Korean national culture? And what attitude did Koryo's cultural group take to accept Chinese culture? Starting from the historical and political relationship between China and Korea as well as the changing forms of Yayue, the thesis tries to analyse the formation of the history, the succession and transition of Korean Yayue, along with how Korean peninsula people accept Chinese musical culture.The full text consists of four parts:1. Redefine Chinese Yayue and Korean Yayue and find out the relation between them.2. Based on politics and history, survey the intension and extension of the study about Yayue's spreading into Korean.3. Try to explore the reasons of the rise and development of Yayue in Korean peninsula from multi-leveled, multi-field and multi-perspective. The reasons are both subjective and objective and involve different fields, such as politics, economy, philosophy, literature and history. This way the thesis summarize the general feature and historical discipline of the development of Zhongyuan Culture in Korean peninsula.4. Korean peninsula promoted the succession and preservation of Yayue culture resulting from the identification for Confucian culture. That's not only because Confucian culture attracts foreigners but foreigners would like to accept it. During the process of accepting foreign culture, Korean peninsula was developing its own culture, and adjusting it when necessary. That's the way to create the proper culture and get the natural discipline of culture inheritance.
