With economy of china is growing up quickly and Chinese power is getting bigger in the world, Chinese language is getting more important for global community. Especially in Korea, the enthusiasm of learning Chinese is very high, the number of Korean students is always ranked as first comparing with other foreign students in china every year. According to 2009 Ministry of Education statistics, there are 238,000 foreign students in china and the number of Korean students is 64000. It is about 30% of total number of foreign students in china. This could not be ignored, also means that the study of Chinese language teaching and education for Korean students is very important. South Korea's culture is influenced by Chinese culture historically. Additionally, Korean people have used Chinese character before "Hunminjeongeum" is created by"Sejong"King in 1446. Also 70% of the Korean vocabulary comes from Chinese characters (just simply translated) and many of the Chinese proverb and informal term have been used by Korean people since long before ago. This is good point to learn and study Chinese language for Korean student. However, the pronunciation and articulation is very different from Chinese one. Such as retro-flex consonant and tongue sound, there is no retro-flex consonant sound in Chinese and no tong sound in Korean etc. Voicing classification is also different. So Korean student is more advantageous than European and American students for speaking Chinese outwardly but still has a lot of problems to speak out Chinese for Korean student. For teaching and learning foreign language, no doubt that most important thing is pronunciation. Because of their different structure of language, Korean student's oftenly make themselves difficult to learn Chinese in tone, intonation. It is point that teacher need to focus on. The study of Chinese language for foreigner has made a lot of results, but specifically the study only focusing on Korean students is insufficient. Therefore, I will analysis what kind of difficulty Korean students are facing to learn the consonants, vowels and tone of Chinese, and find some solution for that (about teaching principles and teaching methods). This dissertation consists of five parts: the first part is "Introduction", indicating the topics introducing the contents; The second part describes the basic concepts of"Speech sound"; Part III and IV is the core of this dissertation, describes the problem that Korean student feels difficulty to learn Chinese focusing"sound of word"and its teaching methods, this paper advocates the teaching program focusing on the early phase of the hearing, focusing on targeted instruction, focusing on the process of exercises ; last part is to summarize the entire dissertation.I believe that the reason why Korean students feel difficult to learn Chinese language is having different pronunciation habit and the structure of language system, no relationship between mother tongue (Korean) and Chinese one. So Korean students who have passion to learn Chinese could study the Chinese more effectively if teacher understands the habit and feature of Korean students focusing on learning Chinese. Also help to improve the quality of teaching.
