| First, the thesis states in introduction the theories and schools and also the study on folktales both at home and abroad, and then expounds current study on Mongolian folktales. Second, it summarizes the features of Mongolian folktales in content and art in the first chapter. The second chapter gives an introduction of morphology theories of folktale founded by Vladimir Jakovlevic Propp, a Russian folklorist, and also explains his study methods and international academic assessment and application. Basing on Propp's folktale morphological analysis system, the third chapter discusses morphological structure of Mongolian folktales and then sorts and summarizes the selected representative twenty Mongolian folktales by function. It also gets Propp's functional theories verified while stating characteristics of Mongolian folktales. Then it comes as the fourth chapter which makes comprehensive analysis for functional numbers and sequence, functional interrelationship and its variation rules basing on Propp's functionalism, and points out some reasons of sequence variation and features of functional sequence for Mongolian folktales. Adopting the analytical method of"AT"type research and classified the Mongolian folktales, the fifth chapter categorizes Mongolian folktales and states their particular types and briefly summarizes the origin and circulation patterns of Mongolian folktales. |
