The dulcimer ballade Wencheng westbound was created by Professor Rui Lunbao in 2000. The song's melody is exquisite interesting to listen, its strict structure and rich skills mix the western techniques of composition and Chinese musical characteristics. The music is based on historical themes of the princess WenCheng going to Tibet in the Tang Dynasty, in the creation the writer used a variety of techniques and performance skills to show this long hard road of Wen Cheng marrying Tibet.In this paper this period of history about the princess Wen Cheng marrying Tibet and the creation process are made the brief summary and the musical creative background as the starting point, and work on this form structure, stylistic features, composition techniques, character of performance and the style of music and other aspects of a detailed analysis, and revealing the artistic features and the composer's concepts and ideas.
