| To trace back the historical origin of Chinese aesthetics and particular series thoughts about aesthetic objects and references and artistic creations and lives from the aspect of Chinese Ancient Aesthetics, this thesis aims to state that the categories of Dao, Qi and Xiang proposed by Lao Tzu had made great influence on the forming of system and characteristics of Chinese ancient aesthetics. The topics and theories of Chinese Ancient Aesthetics such nature, thoughts, fast, oblivion, concentration, vitality, complement, vividness, moving thoughts, natural beauty, spirit reveal, image creation, watching for images, catching meaning from words, clearing minds and smelling scenes, cleaning heart for rules, self inspiration, focus on subject, becoming integration with the images, well planning, combination with the objects, subtle enlightenment, spiritual in eyes, spiritual in mind, spiritual in hand, origin from nature, are originated from the philosophy and aesthetics of Lao Tsu. Aesthetic of Lao Tsu can be considered as the origin of Chinese Aesthetics. |
