The author of this thesis tries to give an objective overall introduction to marked passive constructions in Jining dialect, adequately describe them and shed light on the study of Chinese passive constructions at large.Passive constructions in Jining dialect are classified into six structures which areStructure A:(NP1)+M+NP2+VP+Aux;Structure B:M+NP2+VP+(NP1)+Aux;Structure C:M1+NP2+M2+NP1+(M3)+VP Or M2+NP1+M1+NP2+(M3)+VPStructure D:NP1+M1+NP2+M2+(Pers. Pron.)+VP+Aux.Structure E:M2+NP1+M1+NP2+M3+Pers. Pron.+VP+Aux;Structure F:M1+NP2+M3+Pers. Pron.+M2+NP1+VP+Aux.Each structure and each variant of every structure are illustrated with examples. Major elements of passive constructions, such as NP1, the passive markers, NP2, adverbials, VP and auxiliary words are analyzed in detail. Semantic connotations of passive constructions are also touched in chapter three.
