An Ecological Perspective On Symbiotic Beauty Of Music And Dance

The word"Ecology"originates from the ancient Greek"Oikos",which means"House"and"Environment". The moral book of Lao zi says"Man takes his law from the Earth;the Earth takes its law from Heaven;Heaven takes its law from the Tao. The law of the Tao is its being what it is."This can be construed that everything in this world including its symbiosis,derivative and development is inseparable from the ecosystem,and is being affected by ecological constraints. Because environment has tremendous influence on people,the music and dance as the performance and expression of human feelings, thoughts,and ideas are certainly subject to ecological constraints. Great preface to the Book of Songs says:"Poetry those of the will also. In mind for the will, speak for the poem. Love in the form of action in the statement. Words fail, it is expressed in words;expressed in words,less so of songs;Songs inadequate;I do not know their hands and feet dance the dance also."Music and dance as an ancient art and still full of youthful vigor, along with the flourishing of endless evolution of human civilization,has spread so far. This paper, with the emphasis on ecological perspective,put the music and dance into the interrelated ecosystem,concerned with the innate characteristics of music and dance,discuss and have further investigation into the symbiotic relationship as of today's music and dance art,so as to find the rules between the music and dance.
