Without a doubt, we are entering a newwork era. Internet has been pervading our lives and informing every aspect of society. Citizens take part in online political activities more frequently and internet has become a platform for the public to participate in the discussion and management of state affairs and for the party and government to have a better understanding of pubic opinions and feelings. Therefore, the online public opinion has played a more and more important role in political activities and online public supervision has become a new and effective way of public supervision.Internet buzz words such as "Shaanxi South China Tiger", "eluding the cat", "fragile buildings", and "meat essence", tell us that online pubic supervision tests the public trust in government and poses challenges to government.Against the background of online public supervision, the thesis begins with a discussion of building public trust in government. Based on Principal-Agent Theory, Public Management Theory and Public Service Theory, the thesis adopts many appeoaches such as reading literature, linking theory to practice and systematic anaysis to study online public supervision and public trust in government for a better analysis of the relationship between online public supervision and public trust in government, the current situation, problems and causes of the public trust in government in china with regard to online public supervision. The thesis aims to explore strategies for improving public trust in government and provide solutions for related government departments.
