To develop a stable society needs a firm social structure and through the process of western social development, we find that the strongest social structure is live style. It means that the wealthy in upper class and the paupers in lower class are in least proportion, so that the middle class have owned a large number of the community resources. At present, China presents a pyramid style, which means the lower and the bottom occupies the majority, while the wealthy upper class and upper have very small proportion. Therefore, the power of the middle class is very weak, and small, so it could not form the central society power. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the generation, evolution and trends of middle class which is from domestic and foreign-related social structure and the middle class theory, as well as the base of foreign social structure differentiation, so that it can have a significant impact to the differentiation of the future social structure and social development. This essay is divided into seven parts. The first part introduces the background and significance of the selected topic, followed by a sort of domestic and foreign literature, laying the groundwork for the following analysis. The second part introduces the theories of social structure, which supported by the development of middle class roots. There are four aspects of social structure theory to explain the social class theory and social stratification theory and civil society theory as well as the middle class theory. The third part is mainly based on the theory of Chapter II to summarize the basic concepts and elements of middle class. Firstly, it analyzed and compared the concept of the middle class with other related names. Secondly, it descripted the background of the domestic and international middle class. Thirdly, it compared the Western middle class standards with China. Finally, it analyzed the function of the middle class: reduce the class gap and spur economic operation and promote the democratization process. The fourth part is mainly about a comparative analysis of the development of domestic and international middle class so as to find the common ground of middle class in China. On the one hand, from the Western developed countries, it analyzed the United States, Russia , Japan and South Korea on the development of the middle class, the other hand, analyzing the developing countries such as India, and Latin American countries found the problems can be avoided in China .The fifth part is based on research about Chapter IV, analyzing development of the middle class in China in social transformation period, especially from economy and urbanization. From what I mentioned above in these respects I tried to find the middle class status in transitions. The sixth part is to analyze the middle class problems about the development of contemporary Chinese society and put forward the solutions. Through the development of our society in transformation, we find that chief problems are concentrated in these respects which are mainly in the absence of class consciousness and the lack of awareness of the national mainstream and the brain drain and cultural as well, besides regional imbalances of the middle class. So to solve these problems, the article analyzed the possibility of these problems external and internal causes. Finally, I come up with preliminary solutions such as strengthening class values and social mainstream ideology; promoting social triadic structure to the harmonious development and consolidating social capital and social structure. The seventh part is main conclusions and inadequate shortage of the research as well as the problems of follow-up study should pay attention to.
