Objectives:This thesis is on the purpose of reveal the basic situation of organizational commitment and job satisfaction of college counselors, and investigate the influence of demographic variables, Mean while, it analyzes the relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction and the prediction on job satisfaction by organizational commitment.Methods:Counselors from some Henan colleges were investigated by self-developed organizational commitment questionnaire of college counselors and job satisfaction questionnaire developed by Cheng Dehua. The collected data were analyzed in T test and one-way AN OVA with demographic variables, and give some correlation and regression analyses on organizational commitment and job satisfaction.Results:1. The five factors of college counselors' organizational commitment account for 57.629% of the total variance.2. The sex differences exist in opportunity commitment (p<0.01) and promotion (p<0.01).3. The age differences exist in economic commitment (p<0.05) and salary (p<0.05).4. The counselors of different educational levels show significant differences in ideal commitment (p<0.05) and job (p<0.01).5. The marital status has the significant differences in opportunity commitment (p<0.05), job (p<0.01) and salary (p<0.01).6. The service years has significant differences in affective commitment (p<0.01).7. The different positions has significant differences in economic commitment (p<0.01), affective commitment (p<0.001), normative commitment (p<0.001) and mechanism cadres' attitude (p<0.01).8. The total commitment and total satisfaction of counselors are significant correlation (p<0.01).9. The five dimensions of organizational commitment can predict 18.3%~24.5% of the variance of job satisfaction's each dimension. Conclusion:1. This study finds that organizational commitment of college counselors consists of affective commitment, opportunity commitment, economic commitment, normative commitment and ideal commitment.2. The results show that demography variables cast different influential factors on the different dimensions of organizational commitment and job satisfaction of college counselors. 3. The integral level of organizational commitment and job satisfaction of college counselors are relatively high.4. The college counselors who have a high level organizational commitment also have the high level job satisfaction.5. Organizational commitment of college counselors can in some way predict job satisfaction.
