One of the most important ways to improve individual and team performance is motivation. As a base of training professionals, higher vocational college tries to attract and retain and mobilize the enthusiasm of their faculty. Their success depends largely on various aspects of human resource management and institutional arrangements to incentive the behavior of the faculty.Firstly, this article reviewed the theories of motivation and human resource management. And then this paper defined a range of all the concepts including motivation, human resource management in higher vocational college. Based on motivation theories this article tried to propose a problem‐solving framework of human resources management in higher vocational college. Secondly, through the case of Fujian higher vocational college and comparative analysis of foreign institutions, this article summed up the characteristics of human resources management in higher vocational institutions. Thirdly, through interviews and data of the survey, there is a better understanding of the motivation of higher vocational college. At last of this paper pointed out the innovation, and the inadequacy and future research direction of this paper.
