Under the trend of the specialization of all the teachers, the study on the specialization of teachers in our country has become a hotspot since the end of last century. With the deepening of the study, the researchers gradually realize that the professional development of the teachers is the shortcut that encourages the specialization of teachers. Then how to combine our educational reform with the development reality so as to improve the specialization of teachers becomes a pressing and important topic of the current study. In this thesis, the author tries to investigate how some existing social factors influence the professional development of the teachers in elementary and high schools and puts forward some suggestions to solve these problems.Generally, this thesis includes three parts: introduction, the body part and conclusion.In the introduction, the author summarizes the research documents on our studies of the professional development and specialization of the teachers in recent years, elaborates the grand background of the specialization of our teachers, explains the research idea and methods, most importantly defines the concepts of occupation and profession, professional development and specialization of teachers, and illustrates the connotation of professional development of teachers.In the body part, the author explores the existing social factors that affect the professional development of the teachers in elementary and high schools from four aspects: educational policies, schools, professional theories, and professional organization.From the author's perspective, those that affect the professional development of the teachers in elementary and high schools are as follows: the policies and systems of professional development of the teachers are less perfect, some related measures are not effective, some policies trail the practical requirement of the professional development of the teachers, so the guide role of the government is affected; to some elementary and high schools, it is very difficult for them to gain information from outside ( esp. the schools in less developed areas), so their management methods are simple and level is low, the teachers concepts are slow to update, the school surrounding is not so gelivable to the professional development of the teachers; the branch of instruction that supports the professional development of the teachers is not mature till now, the professional organization of our teachers is not so complete.From above factors, the author puts forward some suggestions in the conclusion: establishing the long mechanism that guarantees the professional development of the teachers in elementary and high schools, constructing the special policy system of the professional development of the teachers; perfecting the related laws and rules, sticking to the rule of administering education according to law, trying to provide law safeguard to the professional development of the teachers; establishing the study type school organization as soon as possible, encouraging and impelling the independent education intermediary organizations that are not subject to the government to involve in the field of the education of teachers.
